At this point, we discovered that our verification test was not done at the specified time (something that, until we complained rather loudly, was deeply hidden in the ADGA and AGS rule book). So, we dried all does off and licked our wounds until next year. We would like to point out, however, that even at only 194 days in milk, Che was already nearly at the mark for earning her milk star for the year (572 pounds of milk and/or 28.6 lbs of butterfat). The lab prediction for Che's lactation for the 305 days was 716 pounds of milk and 35 pounds of butterfat. So, the lab's prediction had Che performing well over what she would need to earn her star. Now that we know better, we will be going back on milk testing, and we are very confident that Che will earn her star.
